The AUDI A4 (2001-05) is a compact executive car, sold mainly as a four-door saloon and practical Avant estate, sitting above mainstream family cars in the UK market. It offers a more premium-feeling alternative to rivals such as the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, while remaining usable for everyday driving. Mycarcheck.com records 21,750 look-ups covering 10,286 different VINs, a substantial sample. Checked cars average 142,000 miles, around 6,000 miles a year, and nearly six previous keepers, suggesting buyers should pay close attention to service history and overall condition. The average private-sale valuation is £500, a guide to this older model rather than a promise for any individual car. The A4 suits commuters, couples and small families wanting comfort, a composed drive and an upmarket cabin; the estate adds space. It is best for buyers valuing refinement and choice, but compare condition and running costs with newer family hatchbacks.
