The MERCEDES-BENZ A CLASS (1998-04) A160 5DR HATCHBACK 1.6 ELEGANCE ACS REV 01 is a compact, five-door hatchback designed to offer Mercedes comfort and practicality in a city-friendly footprint. In the UK market, it sits between a conventional small car and a premium family hatchback, with a taller cabin that helps make access and visibility easier. With five doors and a roomy-for-its-size layout, the A160 suits urban errands, commuting and occasional family trips; it can appeal to couples, small families or drivers wanting an easier-to-enter alternative to low-slung rivals. The Elegance version gives this early A-Class a more comfort-focused feel, while its compact dimensions are helpful for parking and narrow streets. mycarcheck.com records just three checks, so figures are indicative: average mileage is 85,000, annual mileage 2,000, value £600 and keepers 2.7. Its tall design and premium badge distinguish it from rivals, but check each car’s condition and history carefully.
