The RENAULT MEGANE (2002-09) 5DR HATCHBACK 1.6 VVT OASIS AUTO REV 06 is a practical five-door family hatchback from Renault’s popular compact-car range. It sits among mainstream UK small family cars, offering more cabin and boot flexibility than a city car while remaining easier to park and manage than a larger estate or SUV. It’s suited to commuters, couples and small families needing an affordable everyday car, with the automatic gearbox making stop-start traffic less demanding. The 1.6-litre petrol engine offers straightforward performance for town trips and longer journeys, while the five-door layout makes access and loading convenient. Compared with rivals such as the Ford Focus and Vauxhall Astra, it is a familiar, comfort-minded alternative. mycarcheck.com has recorded just seven checks across five VINs, so figures are indicative: average private-sale value £500, mileage 77,000 and annual use 4,000 miles; owners averaged 4.7 previous keepers in this small observed sample.
