Buyer's Guide & Data from our Checks

The RENAULT MEGANE (2002-09) 3DR SPORT HATCHBACK 2.0 VVT 136 DYNAMIQUE REV 06 is a three-door petrol hatchback from Renault’s family-car range. It occupies the mainstream UK hatchback market, with sporty styling and a stronger engine than basic versions. Its distinctive shape feels more individual than rivals such as the Ford Focus, while the three-door body prioritises style over rear-seat access.

With 136 horsepower, the Megane is suited to everyday commuting and longer trips, offering useful pace for drivers who enjoy a more responsive drive. It can serve couples, small households or drivers wanting an affordable used car with extra character, though families needing frequent rear access may prefer a five-door hatchback. Dynamique trim adds an appealing, well-equipped feel.

Mycarcheck.com records four checks across three VINs, so figures are indicative. In this sample, average mileage is 86,000, annual use 6,000 miles, private value £500, and 5.75 previous keepers on average.
