The VAUXHALL ASTRA (2015-20) is a mainstream family hatchback competing with the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf. It is a practical alternative to an SUV: easier to park, comfortable on everyday roads and roomy enough for family duties, shopping and commuting. Its broad appeal keeps it familiar to UK buyers. mycarcheck.com has recorded 77,861 look-ups across 28,836 distinct VINs, a substantial sample of interest in this generation. Checks show an average private-sale valuation of £7,300 and average recorded mileage of 53,000 miles; typical annual mileage is 8,000, with around two previous keepers. These figures describe checked cars, not every Astra. With a composed ride, useful cabin space and straightforward controls, the Astra is an all-rounder rather than a sporty standout. Petrol and diesel choices let buyers balance town use and longer journeys, while equipment varies by trim. It suits commuters and families seeking value, comfort and practicality for everyday driving.
