The RENAULT MEGANE (2002-09) 4DR SPORT SALOON 1.6 VVT EXPRESSION is a compact four-door family saloon from Renault’s popular Mégane range. Unlike the better-known hatchback, this version offers a separate boot, giving it a more traditional shape while remaining an approachable, practical choice in the UK used-car market. Its 1.6-litre petrol engine suits town journeys and commuting, with flexibility for family trips. The Expression trim focuses on comfort rather than sporty luxury, and the four doors make access straightforward. It may appeal to couples, small families or drivers wanting an affordable alternative to a hatchback, though age and condition matter when buying. Against rivals such as the Ford Focus saloon and Vauxhall Astra, the Mégane offers distinctive styling and a comfortable, easy-going feel. mycarcheck has seen five checks across five VINs: averages are £400 private-sale value, 79,000 miles and three previous keepers. These are small-sample indicators, not a guide price.
