Through the development of the Ford Focus, Ford set out to create a single compact vehicle that could be sold worldwide. So successful were they, that the Ford Focus Mark 1 was awarded the European Car of the Year award in 1999. Succeeding the Ford Escort, the Ford Focus has gone on to become one of the most popular compact vehicles. Since it's launch in 1998, Ford have produced 3 more generations of the Ford Focus with the latest 4th generation being unveiled in 2018 - marking the popular family car's 20th anniversary.
