“Either model, the Aprilia Tuono 1000 R is a great used bike option” - Rob Hobson
My Motorcycle Check – the UK’s No.1 motorbike and scooter provenance website – has saved many a biker from making an expensive two-wheeled mistake. In these monthly bulletins its Valuation Team’s experts reveal significant trends in the UK market and choose a ‘bike of the month’.
My Motorcycle Check’s Rob Hobson said: “Either model, single or twin pipe, the Aprilia Tuono 1000 R is a great used bike option. Many think the early model is the best of all, being the first true naked bike - the RSV sports model with the plastic bits removed. These are making stronger money now as people realise just how good they are. We think they still represent fantastic value. As always, check to make sure the one you’re looking at is what it claims to be, especially when buying privately.”
As to market trends, Hobson said: “Unless sales completely stall over the next few weeks, we can safely assume the new bike market will finish the year 10-15% up on 2014. More than 80,000 bikes were registered to the end of August, a 13.2% increase.
“We are of course moving into the quieter months as the dark nights approach and retail demand reduces. There has been a general dip in trade bids of late and this is reflected in our valuations for October. However, thanks to the lack of top end clean retail stock in the 5-10 year sector, we don’t expect any major drop in these values.”
