Former oil boss call for ban on fuel inefficient cars.
Cars that do less than 35 miles to the gallon should be banned from all roads within the EU, claims a former chairman of Shell.
Sir Mark Moody-Stuart said that instead of making motorists less fuel-efficient cars pay more in road and fuel tax there should be a crackdown on car manufacturers who refuse to build more environmentally-friendly vehicles
Sir Mark said that unless tougher laws were introduced to curb the car makers rich people would continue to drive gas-guzzling vehicles and buy their way out of taking responsibility for tackling climate change.
